You just have to be true to yourself. You've always heard it, but what does it mean? And how often do you do something to be true to yourself? Pursuing a life that wasn't meant for you When in the depths of your dispair, really quiet your mind and ask yourself if you fixated on what didn't belong to you: a job, a career, a person or the events of a yesterday you didn't let go. Have you ever thought or said that "this shouldn't have happened to me" if yes, then you too have pursued a life path that wasn't yours. How could this happen to me? Well, would did you think it would happen to? By this resentment and complain, you make yourself small and drain your own power. Ignoring or counteracting your intuition You are a whole when you don't betray yourself. If you are negotiating your inner voice of integrity and feel like you're losing yourself, you are losing your own power. Sometimes when I am doing my groceries, I head over to the yogurt aisle, I pick up a few boxes of fruit mixed Greek yogurts. My heart says I want them, then I tell myself you will never eat it, they will just expire as they have so many times before. I put it back and move on. There, I betrayed myself, I betrayed my inner voice. Every action you take either follows the inner voice or it doesn't. Each time you don't follow your inner voice, you drain your own power. Your gut aka your spirit tells you, you are with the wrong person, and your mind says, "ignore that, focus on real life - there are bills to pay, social expectations to uphold, frictions to avoid and so on and so forth" When you deny truth to yourself, when you betray yourself, you are no different from people who hurt you. You're no different from people who betray you. There, you drained your own power. And what is "real life" anyway. Real life is inside you, not outside in a house or a powerful job. The power of life is inside you. If you have life you have purpose Existential crises. I went through it. Maybe you went through it. Maybe you are still going through it. Existential question is, among other things, why am I hear? What is my purpose? If there is no purpose then what's the point, the big meaning but this life I am living - living in hardships, stress and discontented. Should I just keep living it aimlessly until I stop living - what was the point of all this then? You can't find purpose like looking for a lost earring or a scavenger hunt. Your life purpose is within you. You are already living it, lest you stop yourself by not listening to your spirit. When you ignore your life's purpose, you drain the power of yourself. Give up the need to know what happens tomorrow Plan for tomorrow but don't ponder over the possible outcomes of that plan, think about how you want to live today and also tomorrow, but don't think about how you will end up living tomorrow. Tomorrow doesn't exist today. If you live in tomorrow, you live in non-existence. You drain the power of yourself and who you are today.
