The UAE offers litigants an unusual landscape: civil law onshore courts operating in Arabic and two common-law, English-language jurisdictions, the DIFC Courts in Dubai and the ADGM Courts in Abu Dhabi, alongside well-established arbitral institutions.

High-value disputes frequently touch more than one of these at once, and often extend to foreign courts where counterparties or assets are located. We are built for that reality. We advise on jurisdiction and forum strategy at the outset, run onshore and free zone proceedings in parallel where the dispute requires it, address jurisdictional challenges and forum conflicts, and pursue recognition and enforcement of judgments and awards across the UAE's court systems and abroad. Where a matter spans other countries, we act as strategic coordinating counsel, instructing and directing local firms so that filings, evidence and settlement positions stay aligned rather than colliding.

Our role is to develop and maintain the central case strategy across parallel proceedings in different jurisdictions - assessing how claims, defences, evidence and relief sought in one forum affect the client's position elsewhere, and coordinating timing, disclosure, privilege and enforcement across all of them. Where proceedings must be brought before foreign courts, we instruct and direct local counsel while remaining responsible for the overall strategy, so the client has one strategic team rather than disconnected advisers in separate jurisdictions.

Our international litigation practice is structured around managing parallel proceedings, coordinating domestic and international litigation simultaneously, navigating conflicting court orders, and leveraging parallel disputes to secure strategic advantage in settlement negotiations.

These matters may involve parallel court proceedings, arbitration, insolvency processes, asset-recovery actions or applications for urgent interim relief, each governed by different procedural rules but arising from the same underlying dispute.

Our role is to develop and maintain the central case strategy across parallel proceedings in different jurisdictions - assessing how claims, defences, evidence and relief sought in one forum affect the client's position elsewhere, and coordinating timing, disclosure, privilege and enforcement across all of them.
